12U Elite Head Coach
Football has been a part of Coach Smith his entire life. He is a certified Flag Football coach through USA Football. Smith played high school football, and oversees flag football while stationed in Germany. He has coached competitive adult flag football in the Las Vegas Grid Iron for 5 years while guiding his team, The Force, to a championship. Coach Smith decided to start coaching competitive youth flag football during the Spring of 2016 to help impact the lives of children. He wants to use the same work ethic, commitment, dedication, and team first attitude that he learned playing football, and while in the army. Coach O wants to instill this within all of his players. He has led his 10U team to an unprecedented 6 NYS championships in 8 seasons. 5 of which being perfect seasons. In addition, he also won the NSE Friday Night Lights, HFFL league, and 200% Sports league making him the only coach to win championships in 4 leagues. Coach O has led his teams to 12 tournament victories as well. He also lead his 10U and 12U teams to winning a combined 4 NFL Flag Regional Championships (2017 10U, 2018 10U & 12U, and 2019 12U). His greatest achievement was winning the 2019 NFL Flag 10U National Championship. He also won the 2019 Hard Count Athletics 10U National Championship and National Flag Summer 11U National Championship making him one of only two coaches to ever win three national championships within the same year. He is also a four time NYS Coach of the Year. Coach O believes that a leader should lead by example, and he shows this by giving 100% effort to his players and parents. His coaching goals are that his players continue to improve every season, making a positive impact on a kids life, making sure the kids have fun, and winning championships.
Coach Nathan Richmond
Coach Nathan played high school football for Cimarron Memorial High School. He was a defensive tackle/middle linebacker and offensive guard. He was also an assistant defensive coach at Cimarron Memorial High School. He began his flag football career coaching his sons NYS 8U rec team for two years before finally joining the Apex Predators in the summer of 2017. He helped coach both the Fall 2017 10U championship team as well as the 2017 10 U NFL Flag LA Regional Championship team. In addition he also assisted in coaching the Spring 10U NYS and HFFL championship teams. Coach Nate led his Spring 2019 12U Black team to a championship going 11-0. Coach Nate won the 12U 2019 Spring NYS Coach Of The Year. Lastly he was the assistant coach of the 10U 2019 NFL National Championship team, 10U 2019 Hard Count National Championship, and 11U Summer Nationals team.
8U & 10U Black Head Coach
Coach Michael played Wide Receiver, Cornerback, and Free Safety at Oak Grove and North Salinas High School. He continued to play Tight End & Free Safety for various semi-pro teams in the San Francisco Bay Area. He then proceeded to begin playing Adult Flag football and lead his team to Indoor Flag Football Championship.
Coach Michael begin coaching his son’s Pre-K/6u flag football team in the Bay Area. He won a championship in Spring 2016 and has coached his team in 3 other Super Bowls. He moved to the Henderson/Las Vegas area in Spring 2018 and became the Coach of the 8u Apex Predators beginning Fall 2018. He proceeded to lead his team to the Super Bowl Championship and coached the Pro Bowl. Coach Mike led his Spring 2019 8U team to the Championship and a perfect record while earning 8U Spring 2019 Coach Of The Season. Coach Mike won the 2019 8U West Coast Regionals which was the programs first 8U tournament win. Coach Mike and his 8U Apex Predators won the Fall 2019 NYS Championship giving him a total of three NYS 8U Championships tying the All Time Record. He is committed to continuing the tradition of excellence that the Apex Predators exhibit each and everyday. He is excited to continue racking up wins on the field with the kids as well as ensuring his kids are racking up wins in the classroom and in LIFE. While football is competitive & fun we want to ensure we continue to groom our young people to be productive citizens in our community.

10U Head Coach
Joel Johnson born in St. Louis Mo. Married with 4 children. Starting Corner Back/Team Captain for Mid America Nazarene (Olathe,KS) in the NAIA 03-05. Earned Honorable Mention All American for Punt Return And First Player Ever to get All Conference in Both Kick and Punt Return in the Same Season. Coach flag football 5 seasons 8u and 10u for 1 season as the Bengals In NYS. Received Coach of the Week for 8u Rec in Fall of 2016. Received NFL Elite Coach of the year Spring and Fall Of 2017. Coach Johnson led his NYS 2019 Spring 10U West team to the championship while also going undefeated.
15U Head Coach
Coach Melvin’s Professional Career started with San Jose Saber Cats, Las Angeles Dragons, Tulsa Talons, New Jersey Gladiators and winning a world championship with the Quad City Steam Wheelers. Coach Melvin’s coaching career spans over 8 years where he was the DB coach for several High Schools and helped one of them to a Section Championship and State final. Coach Melvin has also has been an assistant and head coach for three different flag football teams that went to two championships and one semifinals. Coach Melvin has gained the passion for helping those in need from
the life lesson he learned from his high school football coach who had adopted him. Coach Melvin has
dedicated his life to serving his community and Co-Founded Spot the Youth Foundation whose main goal
is to enrich the lives of children through the participation in sports. Coach Melvin believes that the best
award anyone could ever receive is knowing that you made a positive impact on a child’s life. Technique
over Talent! In Coach Melvins first season he led his 10U Red to to the 2019 Fall NYS Championship with a perfect season.
10U Red Head Coach
Coach Melvin college career started at San Jose State University then he transferred to Delta College and finished his Collegiate career at New Mexico State University. During Coach Melvin’s college career, he has received several awards, Freshman of the Year, Special Teams Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.
14U Head Coach
Coach Todd Thomson is one of the most decorated Flag Coaches in Las Vegas Flag Football history. Thomson started the Royalty which was the premier Flag travel program in Las Vegas from 2016-2018 that won several championships. Known as one of the best coaches to ever come out of HFFL Coach Thomson has won 10 HFFL League championships across several age divisions. Coach Thomson won the 12U 2016 Hard Count Best Of The West Tournament in San Diego, 12U 2018 Duel In the Desert, 2018 NFL Flag San Diego Regional, and 14U 2019 West Coast Nationals. Thomson took two 14U teams to NFL Flag Nationals in 2018 and 2019 with his 2018 Royalty team making it to the semi finals. Thomson joined the Apex Predators in the fall of 2019 and won the 14U NYS championship making him only the second Coach to win an NYS and HFFL Championship.
Both Tackle and Flag Football have been lifelong passions for Coach Jason. He played football for 11 years and wrestled for 5 years, prior to starting his adult life with his wife Masie. Together they now enjoy 26+ Years of marriage and they are blessed to be the parents of 4 amazing children. Jason joined the U.S. Army in 1992 and served in the U.S. Infantry for 10 years. During those years, Jason played Adult Flag Football while in the Army, and Coached High School Wrestling while serving in Germany. The
past 5 years here in Las Vegas, Jason has Coached 6U, 8U, and 12U Elite Flag Football Teams and is currently Coaching High School Girls in the 15U Age Division. He is proud to part of the Apex Predators
Flag Football Family. In the 2019-2020 school year ahead, Jason was asked to take over the Coaching Program at Desert Oasis High School for Girls Flag Football and is the current Head Coach of the Varsity team. Jason has an empowering and encouraging approach
to coaching yet has the ability to ensure that the players remain focused, stay engaged in a Team Environment, and become fundamentally sound. The most important success Coach Jason strives for is
